About the Role

This vital role connects with customers, providing clinical product knowledge to medical professionals and assisting with payer navigation. The Specialty/Senior Specialty Representative is the primary customer contact, implementing marketing strategy and promoting Amgen products under District Manager guidance. Amgen supports long-term career development through challenging assignments and valuable opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgen’s products and effectively communicate clinical benefits to medical professionals to drive appropriate utilization.
  • Perform as a sales leader to achieve territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets through in-person and virtual engagement.
  • Develop relationships to service and manage accounts, customizing discussions and customer interactions based on needs, ensuring product access, resolving or triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
  • Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance, and develop territory plans in partnership with the District Manager.
  • Partner with colleagues to share best practices and continuously learn and grow.
  • Demonstrate passion for Amgen’s products, building the brand while keeping patient impact at the forefront.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree OR Associate's degree and 4 years of Sales experience OR High school diploma/GED and 6 years of Sales experience (Specialty Representative)
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field (Senior Specialty Representative)
  • Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field (Senior Specialty Representative)
  • High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field (Senior Specialty Representative)
  • Three or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry (Preferred)
  • Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases (Preferred)
  • Local market knowledge (Preferred)
  • Established relationships in the territory (Preferred)
  • A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration (Preferred)

Salary/Compensations

  • Specialty Representative: $89,880.00 – $121,602.00 (U.S. excluding Puerto Rico)
  • Senior Specialty Representative: $109,631.00 – $184,473.00 (U.S. excluding Puerto Rico)
