About the Role

Jensen Hughes seeks a motivated inside sales representative for the global Business Development team in the Pacific Region. This role involves identifying new leads, understanding client needs, connecting them to services, and ensuring a smooth sales process. The candidate will retain long-term client relationships, expand services, close sales, and meet targets, focusing on expanding Fire and Life Safety, Code and Building Surveying, and Access Consulting service lines through existing and new clients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sales opportunities by identifying potential clients and building rapport.
  • Follow up on leads and opportunities.
  • Provide clear and detailed explanations of services.
  • Collaborate with technical colleagues on proposals and support marketing in preparing qualifications.
  • Communicate with existing and potential clients, including outbound calls.
  • Respond to customer questions, coordinate with technical colleagues, and provide additional information.
  • Create and maintain client relationships, manage existing accounts, support service renewals, and identify value-added opportunities.
  • Support Business Development and Operations teams with pipeline understanding, proposal progression, and order securing.
  • Maintain sales data for clients, pipeline, orders, and renewal projects/contracts.
  • Explain the value of services and how they meet client needs.
  • Engage operations and subject matter experts to support business development.
  • Monitor tender inbox, coordinate portal notifications, and manage bid addendums.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and procurement practices to ensure relevant bid responses.
  • Research new business opportunities.
  • Support prequalification and vendor listings, including updates and new applications.
  • Proactively plan and support annual growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Two (2) plus years’ experience in business development or sales and proposal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
  • Experience with government contract tracking systems.
  • Experience with government bids and local council submissions.
  • Experience working for a professional services firm preferred.
  • General knowledge and confidence using computer databases and menu-driven reports.
  • Self-starter, independent, self-motivated, with a bias for action.
  • Project coordination and organizational skills, attention to detail, and initiative.
  • Ability to perform at a high level in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
  • Exceptional customer service.
