About the Role
Join a high-end plaster moulding shop in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. This role involves hands-on creation of intricate forms and moulds, assisting with shop operations, and team collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble patterns, moulds, and forms according to project specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and plans to accurately produce components.
- Work with curves, wiggle boards, and various formwork materials to create precise shapes.
- Operate shop tools and machinery safely and efficiently, including saws, drills, and hand tools.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on schedule while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Operate a waterjet machine (training provided if needed).
- Assist with general shop duties as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a craftsman, carpenter, or mould/pattern maker, preferably in a high-end shop environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings with precision.
- Experience with curves, wiggle boards, and formwork is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with waterjet machines is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Reliable and punctual; able to work in-person Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to shop-specific techniques and processes.
