About the Role
Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, efficient, and high-performing operations within a highly automated distribution centre. Drive excellence in health and safety, productivity, and equipment performance, acting as the key point of contact for technical and operational issues. Maintain system reliability, maximise output, and consistently meet service level expectations.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily shift operations, ensuring high system performance and minimal downtime
- Monitor and resolve technical and operational issues in real time
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data insights and performance metrics
- Oversee CMMS reporting and ensure accurate maintenance tracking
- Set, monitor, and achieve KPIs across safety, productivity, and service delivery
- Ensure smooth shift handovers and conduct root cause analysis on system issues
- Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring, and structured development plans
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence
- Support reliability and performance of automated material handling systems
Requirements
- Qualification in mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Proven experience leading teams in an automated or technical environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret system data and diagnostics
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage escalations and act as a key technical point of contact
- Experience with automated systems such as ASRS (advantageous)
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
