About the Role
This position performs a wide variety of maintenance duties, including preventative, emergency, cosmetic, and routine maintenance, and regular inspections. The role emphasizes safe work practices, sustained physical effort, troubleshooting, problem-solving, attention to detail, customer service, and time management.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and respond to work orders, following up with residents and management.
- Ensure preventative maintenance scheduling and performance are current.
- Perform cosmetic and routine maintenance throughout the community.
- Conduct unit turnovers and preparations for new move-ins, meeting deadlines.
- Conduct move-in and move-out inspections.
- Conduct quarterly inspections with the Property Manager.
- Perform plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and masonry repairs and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate, schedule, and oversee vendor work with the Property Manager.
- Provide on-call coverage for off-shift and weekend emergency maintenance.
Requirements
- Ability to function in an on-call capacity.
- Possess reliable transportation.
- Basic mathematical and computer skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Strong time management skills.
- Minimum 2 years of experience performing maintenance tasks in an apartment development or comparable position.
- Knowledge of REAC and other regulatory inspections is a plus.
- Bilingual skills in English and Cantonese are highly desirable.
