About the Role

Focus on biologics formulation development and candidate selection within the Discovery Pharmaceutical Sciences (DPS) group. This role involves characterization, early formulation development, developability assessment, and delivery approaches for various biologics modalities, aiming to select optimal candidates and drive innovation in protein formulation and drug delivery.

Responsibilities

• Execute lab experiments with minimal supervision.
• Generate and interpret key data sets.
• Develop strategies to optimize molecules and their formulations.
• Contribute to departmental scientific initiatives as an individual contributor.
• Mentor junior scientists as a technical lead.
• Interact with Bioprocess, Analytical Chemistry, Protein Sciences, Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics, and Medicinal Chemistry functions.

Requirements

• Ph.D. degree with a minimum of six years of relevant industrial experience.
• Minimum of six years of experience in developing biologics formulations in preclinical or clinical stages.
• Expertise in characterizing physicochemical properties of biologics molecules such as aggregation, fragmentation, charge variance, and particle formation.
• Strong track record of solving deep technical challenges.
• Track record of industrial biologics formulation development activities using tools like SEC, CE-SDS, cIEF, MFI, HIAC, and peptide mapping.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Ability to drive innovation, evidenced by publication, talks, or patents.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Motivation to work in a team environment with cross-functional interactions.
• Experience in pre-clinical/clinical formulation development and physico-chemical characterization of various biologics modalities (preferred).
• Experience in candidate selection and developability assessment of biologics molecules (preferred).
• Additional experience in drug delivery technology (preferred).
