Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Claims Adjusters and administrators, overseeing day-to-day claims operations and performance.
- Set clear team goals, drive productivity, and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Provide technical guidance and act as a key escalation point for complex and litigated claims.
- Maintain a personal portfolio of high-value and complex claims across multiple lines.
- Allocate new claims, ensuring appropriate resourcing and effective management across the team.
- Build strong relationships with brokers, insureds, underwriters, and external service providers.
- Oversee the appointment and performance of panel lawyers, adjusters, and other experts.
- Ensure accurate reserving, timely payments, and compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Lead reporting activities, including management reporting and major loss updates.
- Drive process improvement, innovation, and best practice across claims operations.
- Mentor and develop team members, building capability and supporting career growth.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in general insurance claims, with exposure across multiple lines of business.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex or high-value claims and overseeing claims portfolios.
- Leadership experience in coordinating teams and external service providers (including remote or offshore teams).
- Experience operating within a structured, multinational or regulated environment, including adherence to authority limits and reporting requirements.
