Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Claims Adjusters and administrators, overseeing day-to-day claims operations and performance.
  • Set clear team goals, drive productivity, and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Provide technical guidance and act as a key escalation point for complex and litigated claims.
  • Maintain a personal portfolio of high-value and complex claims across multiple lines.
  • Allocate new claims, ensuring appropriate resourcing and effective management across the team.
  • Build strong relationships with brokers, insureds, underwriters, and external service providers.
  • Oversee the appointment and performance of panel lawyers, adjusters, and other experts.
  • Ensure accurate reserving, timely payments, and compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead reporting activities, including management reporting and major loss updates.
  • Drive process improvement, innovation, and best practice across claims operations.
  • Mentor and develop team members, building capability and supporting career growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in general insurance claims, with exposure across multiple lines of business.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex or high-value claims and overseeing claims portfolios.
  • Leadership experience in coordinating teams and external service providers (including remote or offshore teams).
  • Experience operating within a structured, multinational or regulated environment, including adherence to authority limits and reporting requirements.

  • Strong technical expertise in claims management principles.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including NCPD Reporting requirements.
  • Understanding of claims interaction with underwriting.
