About the Role

This role involves leading sales for JMP Japan, reporting to the Global SVP of Sales and Field Marketing, and collaborating with various departments to drive new sales, maintain recurring revenue, grow market share, and ensure high customer satisfaction. The leader will be creative and thoughtful in driving sales growth and achieving goals, contributing to the development of sales strategy, processes, and tactics, and helping formulate and implement a strategic sales vision for the company.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent and effective application of customer engagement methodologies.
  • Create and reinforce a goal-oriented, collaborative sales culture.
  • Manage Japan sales teams to achieve revenue and financial metrics.
  • Optimize sales team structure and costs by hiring and developing high-caliber talent.
  • Foster a sales culture focused on critical thinking and business acumen.
  • Execute defined sales processes and identify improvements.
  • Accurately manage sales forecasting, leveraging data for insights and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity, providing feedback to leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing function.
  • Manage key customer relationships and help close strategic sales opportunities.
  • Negotiate complex contracts and bids with legal and business operations staff.
  • Interpret sales policies, advise teams on complex issues, and emphasize JMP's sales methodologies.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of software sales experience in data analytics.
  • 10+ years of software sales management experience.
  • Demonstrable track record of organic software revenue growth.
  • Demonstrated success building and implementing a go-to-market strategy for a rapidly growing software company.
  • Proven ability to build and grow various sales channels, both direct and indirect.
  • Experience with local market and operational needs in established markets.
  • Successful experience coaching sales teams in closing complex software opportunities.
  • Proven experience coaching sales leaders and individual contributors to ensure progress and align behavior.
  • Proven experience establishing clear goals, expectations, and managing performance.
  • Experience establishing and nurturing key customer relationships and supporting strategic opportunities.
  • Experience providing status reports with market and customer feedback to corporate leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability in all aspects of sales leadership; "Lead from the Front".
  • P&L management responsibilities.
  • BS/BA degree required.
  • Fluent in Japanese and English.
  • Strong intellect and personal presence, inspiring confidence at all levels.
  • Self-directed, able to spearhead initiatives, translate plans into actions, and execute with urgency.
