Responsibilities

Collaborate with medical providers and medical assistants on patient care management, organization, and communication.
Provide healthcare services, including applying x-ray energy for diagnosis or treatment of patients across all age groups.
Perform and analyze patient x-rays, reporting results to medical providers.
Provide administrative support for efficient UCSF-GoHealth Urgent Care Center operations.
Perform x-ray services for patients from newborn to elderly under clinical provider direction.
Ensure correct patient positioning and protection during x-ray use.
Inform technical staff of patient flow.
Prepare patients for examination, including verifying information, recording medical history, and confirming visit purpose.
Perform preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature) and escalate critical cases to providers.
Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG) and provide patient information to providers.
Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files.
Conduct courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up on care.
Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment.
Maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment, troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets.
Collaborate with ordering/treating providers to determine optimal procedures or views for accurate diagnoses and treatment.
Support clinic operations to ensure smooth center functioning.
Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety, and answering questions.
Accurately position patients and equipment for optimal imaging results.
Select proper ionizing factors by adjusting radiographic controls to capture clear, high-quality diagnostic images.
Perform routine maintenance, cleaning of X-ray equipment, and manage necessary supplies.
Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols and implement ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) to minimize exposure.
Maintain accurate patient records and log completed procedures in electronic systems or logbooks.
Verify image quality and ensure images are sent to radiologists for interpretation.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program
Experience in a clinical setting (preferred)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA)
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration
State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (if applicable by state law)
