About the Role

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will provide efficient, safe, and high-quality care to residents through the application of the nursing process. You will support the interdisciplinary team by supervising nursing assistants, administering treatments and medications, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for all residents.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and oversee comprehensive nursing care, including medication administration, treatment, and resident condition assessment.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed.
  • Supervise nursing assistants and participate in resident care.
  • Utilize resources to ensure optimal care.
  • Maintain unit supplies and equipment.
  • Promote and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff.
  • Respond to resident and facility emergencies.
  • Document care needs and interventions in medical records and care plans.
  • Complete documentation for assessments, care planning, physician orders, and evaluations.
  • Maintain effective communication with nursing shifts, departments, supervisors, physicians, and resident families.
  • Advocate for residents’ rights and report abuse or neglect.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and infection control policies.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and uphold professional standards.
  • Assist with onboarding and orientation of new nursing staff.
  • Provide feedback for nursing assistant evaluations.
  • Attend in-service education and training for professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Accept reassignment to meet resident care needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nursing program.
  • Current and active LVN license in California.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Two years of acute or long-term care experience (preferred).
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Strong commitment to quality patient care, safety, and professionalism.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist residents for extended periods.
  • Ability to use proper body mechanics and assistive devices safely.
