About the Role

Provide efficient, quality patient care according to departmental policies. Perform support activities including equipment maintenance, inventory, setup, and operation of respiratory care equipment for diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement components of the respiratory process.
  • Identify learning needs and teach patients and families.
  • Communicate and collaborate with various teams and individuals.
  • Apply professional standards of practice in job situations.

Requirements

  • One year of critical care and/or artificial airway and ventilator care experience preferred.
  • Ability to project a professional image.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions.
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications (Microsoft Office, EMR).
  • Freedom from illegal use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
  • Current, valid, and active license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist in the state of employment.
  • Documented proof of obtained degrees for regulatory compliance.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
