About the Role

Provide leadership and administration for the Children’s Summer Sunday elementary program (Grades 1-5). Support children with special needs. Create engaging experiences for children to grow in faith, develop social skills, and find belonging within the church and community.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and execute Sunday programming for Grades 1-5
  • Lead volunteer teachers
  • Provide administrative support
  • Understand and adapt age-appropriate Bible curriculum
  • Assist with curriculum preparation and development
  • Lead large and small group Sunday teaching
  • Support children with special needs
  • Support all NextGen summer events
  • Maintain an atmosphere of good morale and healthy mentorship
  • Lead at Jr. Youth Premix (Overnight), Jr. Youth Camp (Overnight), Sr. Youth Remix (Overnight), and Sr. Youth Camp (Overnight)
  • Provide childcare
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Children’s Pastor

Requirements

  • Possess a deep and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Demonstrate a servant heart and teachable spirit
  • Experience working with children
  • Minimum 18 years old
  • High school completion
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Availability for all scheduled programs and overnight events (Premix, Remix, Camps)
  • Required Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Ability to regularly interact with children, parents, volunteers, and staff
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work varied hours
  • Support and understand The Peoples Church's Vision, Mission, Values, and Statement of Faith
  • First Aid/CPR Training preferred
