About the Role

The Dietary Float provides exceptional customer service to patients and guests, ensuring a memorable food and dining experience in the hospital and cafeteria. This role involves meeting nutritional needs, maintaining sanitary conditions for all dietary equipment, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring timely completion of duties.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain sanitary conditions of all tableware, pots, pans, and other dietary equipment.
  • Assist in preparing needed food items in compliance with Sanitary Code of NH.
  • Ensure all duties are completed on schedule.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen dish room, including china, flatware, cooking utensils, dishes, and dishwashing equipment.
  • Assist with cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining room, including floors.
  • Remove trash from the kitchen to appropriate disposal areas.
  • Cross-train as a dietary aide.
  • Cross-train as a cafeteria cashier.
  • Assist the Cook with food preparation as needed.
  • Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and support organizational objectives.
  • Perform other duties as specified by the Food Services Manager and Lead Cook.

Requirements

  • Ability to speak and read English.
  • Ability to follow verbal directions.
  • Knowledge of dishwasher and other kitchen equipment operation.
  • Full knowledge of tray setting procedure.
  • Ability to read Dietary manual.
  • Follow departmental and organizational safety policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate understanding of safety issues and practices.
  • Follow organizational policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in departmental and organizational committees and activities.
  • Maintain required job certifications.
  • Complete annual mandatory trainings.
