About the Role
Join the development team to build and integrate secure, scalable Identity Verification (IDV) experiences and APIs for Docusign's Unified Experiences. Focus on delivering reusable end-customer and external developer experiences, collaborating with product, security, and platform teams to ensure secure and compliant handling of identity data. This is an individual contributor role.
Responsibilities
- Solve problems at scale
- Develop high-quality, test-covered code
- Design and develop component-based, scalable user interfaces and core functionality for customer administrators
- Design and implement secure, resilient backend services and APIs for identity verification (IDV) flows, including document verification, risk checks, and decisioning
- Integrate with third-party IDV/document verification providers and internal identity services, managing webhooks, asynchronous workflows, error handling, and monitoring
- Collaborate with Product Management and developers to translate product requirements into design, provide development estimates, focusing on high-assurance IDV use cases
- Collaborate with cross-site development teams on product design, implementation, testing, and release
- Partner with security, privacy, and compliance teams to ensure IDV experiences meet data protection, encryption, access control, and auditability standards
Requirements
- Experience with full software development lifecycle, including version control, CI/CD, testing, and cloud deployments
- Experience debugging high-priority production issues
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-moving environment, prioritize work, and manage time effectively
- Passion for learning new software technologies
- Experience designing and building secure, high-availability backend services and APIs for critical workflows (identity, authentication, fraud/risk systems)
- Experience with identity verification (IDV), KYC, or document verification flows, including third-party integration and rules/decisioning workflows
- Experience handling sensitive PII and identity data in compliance with security and privacy best practices
- Experience building or integrating user-facing verification flows (document upload, selfie capture, guided step-up verification)

Salary/Compensations
- California: $104,900.00 - $161,975.00 base salary
- Washington, Maryland, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $99,000.00 - $144,200.00 base salary
- Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance
- Eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs)
