About the Role

The Human Resources Associate maintains accurate and confidential employee records, assists in processing HRIS status changes, payroll transactions, benefits claims, invoice payments, leave of absence paperwork, safety tracking, and filing.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
  • Assist in processing HRIS status changes.
  • Assist in processing payroll transactions.
  • Assist in benefits claim and invoice payment preparation.
  • Assist in leave of absence paperwork.
  • Assist in safety tracking.
  • Assist in filing.
  • Perform all assigned duties in a professional, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Follow all Company safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree and/or three years’ human resource/payroll or related business experience strongly preferred.
  • Professional demeanor and approachability.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with payroll, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and HR compliance.
  • Demonstrated computer skills with proficiency in payroll/HRIS systems, Microsoft Office 365, benefits web portals, and related web-based systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, including reading and writing.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity when problem solving.
  • Valid NY State driver’s license required for travel between work sites.
  • Ability to operate a telephone, cell phone, photocopier, calculator, and computer.
  • Ability to send/receive email messages, post information to a database or spreadsheet, and perform basic word processing and/or data entry.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses) in covered production areas.
  • Close mental and visual attention for preparing and analyzing data and figures, performing accounting work, using a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, grasp, handle or feel, and perform repetitive motions of hands and/or wrists.
  • Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to move objects.
  • Ability to travel on an as needed basis to local and/or other company site locations.
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle between Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo facilities.
