About the Role

Lead teams serving Software & High-Tech and Private Equity clients, focusing on software, SaaS, TMT, and tech-enabled services. Engagements include product and technology platform strategy, operating model transformation, SDLC process improvement leveraging AI, due diligence, value creation, and merger integration. This role also involves business development, practice building, and talent development, leading complex engagements, building client relationships, and coaching teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engagement teams serving Software & High-Tech and Private Equity clients.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with executive stakeholders.
  • Serve as engagement leader for strategy and operational transformation initiatives within the Software & High-Tech sector.
  • Provide engagement leadership for complex technology transformation programs.
  • Build credibility with CPO/CTOs and confidently communicate impact and results with business leaders.
  • Oversee development of executive-level client deliverables.
  • Manage engagement economics, quality assurance, staffing, and client satisfaction.
  • Coach and mentor consultants, senior consultants, and managers.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of methodologies, tools, and intellectual property.
  • Collaborate across Software & High-Tech, Technology, M&A, and Private Equity practices.
  • Play an active role in performance management, coaching, mentoring, and career development of team members.
  • Support recruiting efforts, including experienced hires, campus recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Contribute to thought leadership, training programs, and internal capability-building initiatives.
  • Build and expand relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Identify, shape, and support new business opportunities.
  • Lead portions of proposal development, solution design, engagement scoping, and pricing activities.
  • Develop go-to-market messaging, thought leadership, and sales materials.
  • Represent West Monroe at industry events while building a strong professional network.
  • Partner with leadership to identify emerging market trends and client needs.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of professional experience.
  • Software engineering leadership in a software / SaaS company with demonstrated ability of leading engineering/product teams and driving key outcomes with business leadership.
  • Management, technology, or software operations consulting serving Software and SaaS clients, focused on product and software development lifecycle.
  • M&A, corporate strategy, or transaction advisory experience supporting or as part of a software businesses.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex engagements and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of software and SaaS business models, economics, product management practices, and software development organizations.
  • Experience evaluating and improving product & R&D organizations, operating models, product portfolios, or software development effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of AI use across the software development lifecycle, including agentic workflows, AI-orchestrated SDLC processes, automated testing & remediation, AI-enabled modernization, expert-guided orchestration.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with executive stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and mentoring team members.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Ability to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.

  • $219,800—$258,500 USD (Los Angeles)
