About the Role
This position supports a large federal agency in Albany, NY, requiring expertise in auditing and fraud services for litigation processes. Candidates will demonstrate expertise in auditing and fraud services to support the litigation process of a large federal office.
Responsibilities
- Assist AUSAs and investigative agencies with complex financial, statistical, healthcare, and forensic accounting analyses for civil fraud investigations and litigation.
- Analyze and audit financial transactions, accounting systems, healthcare claims, reimbursement data, procurement records, and grant expenditures.
- Conduct healthcare claims analysis for federally funded programs (Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, VA).
- Assist with statistical sampling analyses and methodologies, including RAT-STATS or comparable tools.
- Conduct False Claims Act damages analyses, including calculations for damages, penalties, and restitution.
- Conduct asset tracing and ability-to-pay analyses to evaluate settlement positions, financial recoverability, and collection.
- Analyze large financial or healthcare datasets and organize evidence using industry-standard analytical and visualization tools.
- Assist with financial tracing for individuals, corporate entities, healthcare providers, contractors, and grant recipients.
- Perform forensic accounting analyses on incomplete, inconsistent, voluminous, or electronically stored financial records.
- Review and analyze banking records, tax records, healthcare billing records, claims submissions, contracts, invoices, procurement materials, grant documentation, and correspondence.
- Prepare interim and final reports during investigations and litigation.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain background investigation adjudication.
