Responsibilities
- Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum with the teaching team.
- Observe and support children’s interests and developmental milestones.
- Communicate effectively with families about child progress and daily milestones.
- Promote positive social behaviors and model respectful interactions.
- Plan a balanced daily schedule including indoor/outdoor and active/quiet activities.
- Accept company philosophy and encourage a positive learning environment.
- Respect and observe children's interests, intervening for safety and enhancing play.
- Collaborate with teachers and leaders on curriculum implementation.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Meet all state preschool teacher requirements.
Skills
- Familiarity with Reggio Emilia philosophy and emergent curriculum.
- High level of flexibility.
- Willingness to work within business hours.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills.
Work Type
- Part-Time Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 12:30pm
Education Level
- Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education (Preferred).
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education.
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education.
- Bachelor's Degree in Child Development with a focus on Birth to 2nd grade or Nursery Child Psychology.
- NYS certification (or planning to receive certification) in Nursery to 6th grade.
- NYS certification (or planning to receive certification) in Birth to 2nd grade.
- NYS certification (or planning to receive certification) in Students with Disabilities – birth to 2nd grade.
Salary/Compensations
- Competitive compensation.
- Hourly Pay Rate: $35 - $40.
