About the Role

Reporting to the Assistant Branch Managers, this role is responsible for delivering exceptional front-line service, managing treasury operations, and supporting branch administration with a strong focus on member satisfaction and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Greet members and visitors, determine their needs, and direct them appropriately
  • Operate telephone lines and manage voicemail messages, ensuring timely follow-up
  • Proactively promote Credit Union products and services through member interactions
  • Assess members’ needs and recommend suitable financial solutions, referring complex requests to appropriate staff
  • Review and verify online account opening applications for accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain custody, balancing, and security of treasury and central cash, including vault operations and negotiable instruments
  • Monitor and verify night deposits daily
  • Support deposit administration by reviewing account reports and maintaining accurate records
  • Accept and confirm MSR cash and cheque drops; prepare central deposits and ensure teller transactions are balanced
  • Provide general administrative support including correspondence, reports, filing, CRA remittances, and other office duties
  • Perform MSR duties and assist other staff as needed
  • Participate in Credit Union promotions, member events, and community engagement activities
  • Open and close the branch as required
  • Take initiative to support branch operations during slower periods

Requirements

  • Current member of United Steelworkers Union local 1064
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning and professional development
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Initiative, enthusiasm, and a commitment to supporting member financial success

Skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent member service and relationship-building skills
  • Proven ability to cross-sell financial products and services
  • Knowledge of financial principles and regulatory policies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Salary/Compensations

  • Remuneration in accordance with clause 9.01 of the Collective Agreement between Sydney Credit Union Limited and United Steelworkers, Local 1064
