About the Role
Lead a comprehensive NCAA Division I men's lacrosse program, ensuring compliance with all rules and policies. Develop strategies to enhance team and individual athletic and academic performance, fostering holistic student-athlete growth. Responsibilities include 60% instructional duties and 40% recruitment, administrative, and fiscal management tasks, requiring discretion and independent judgment.
Responsibilities
- Assess, implement, and evaluate strategies to enhance team and individual performance.
- Provide timely and constructive individualized feedback for student-athlete improvement.
- Prepare individuals and the team for competition, focusing on high-level performance and sportsmanship.
- Submit all paperwork, schedule meetings, and respond to information requests from athletic trainers and team physicians according to guidelines and deadlines.
- Coordinate with the Peak Performance Team (Strength and Conditioning, Sports Medicine, Nutrition, Mental Health) on comprehensive training programs.
- Work with appropriate personnel to organize, coordinate, and schedule all home and away contests, including facility and equipment setup, officials, scorekeepers, statisticians, media, lodging, meals, and travel arrangements.
- Conduct program in compliance with all applicable NCAA, conference, and institutional policies, rules, and regulations.
- Ensure timely submission of all compliance-related workflows through ARMS to maintain integrity and transparency.
- Maintain open and responsive communications with the Athletics NCAA Compliance Department.
- Maintain up-to-date certification in all required areas (NCAA DI Institute Modules, 1st Aid/CPR/AED Training, Etc).
- Submit all budget requests, documentation, receipts, and related forms according to existing policy and established deadlines.
- Monitor all budgets as they relate to your program.
- Stay within budget allocations.
- Account for all money related to the program, including fund raising, camps, clinics, and special events.
- Comply with College and department fiscal guidelines and policies.
- Strategically award and monitor all athletics grants in aid to best leverage the academic progress rating (APR).
- Assist leading and supporting the College Enrollment Management priorities through partnership, participation, and meeting goals.
- Identify, recruit, and retain athletically and academically talented prospective student-athletes who will embrace the core values of Le Moyne College athletics.
- Assist the department with its gender equity planning and the satisfaction of all Title IX legislation by striving to attain goals related to applicable enrollment management initiatives.
- Promote and offer available experiential learning/internship/work study opportunities to incoming prospects and/or general students.
- Respond to requests for information from prospective student-athletes, coaches, parents, and/or friends.
- Solicit information from and distribute information to eligible prospective student-athletes and coaches and/or parents or friends.
- Develop and distribute appropriate recruiting materials, publications, and information.
- Follow up with appropriate offers of scholarships in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive recruiting records of all prospective student-athletes.
- Provide appropriate academic support, assistance, motivation, and environment for student-athletes.
- Maintain familiarity with appropriate academic resource and assistance programs available to student-athletes.
- Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes from current class work to graduation.
- Promote the importance of academic achievement and life skills development.
- Be broadly engaged and in service to the College through participation on committees and attendance at College functions/events.
- Participate with department committees, as elected or assigned, to develop, evaluate, and enhance department policy.
- Attend all departmental meetings, unless excused in advance by the Athletic Director/AVP.
- Complete all online educational and training modules required by the College (Cybersecurity training, Title IX/Diversity & Inclusion training, etc).
- Be fully committed and engaged in advancing the department’s “Inside the L” culture.
- Respond to all information requests and work with the media according to guidelines and deadlines established by Athletic Communications.
- Inform Athletic Communications when you or any of your athletes has been contacted by the media.
- Fully understand and support the College's policies and procedures, along with any departmental guidelines, for all fund-raising activities.
- Secure a minimum 10% of your programmatic budget through individual giving or grants.
- Drive fundraising initiatives to support strategic goals not funded through programmatic budget.
- Cultivate donor relationships and meet annual development targets.
- Pay particular attention to NCAA legislation surrounding NIL, booster groups, and donors.
- Reconcile all revenues and deposits in accordance with institutional and departmental policy.
- Fully support the Dolphin Athletic Association and its programming to engage key stakeholder groups.
- Be involved in various community activities as a representative of the Le Moyne College Athletics Department.
- Identify and cultivate a community partnership with a service-based organization to provide an impactful service experience for your student-athletes.
- Supervise and evaluate each assistant coach involved with your program.
- Keep assistant coaches informed of all applicable rules, regulations, deadlines, meetings, and/or other policies.
- Ensure all staff members (including volunteers) satisfy the hiring guidelines of the Department and pass the NCAA Division I Modules each year.
- Maintain and advance current understandings of techniques, strategies, theories, and regulations as they relate to the athletics industry.
- Attend and participate in conferences if budget support is provided.
- Report to the Sport Administrator for performance evaluations and most other official duties.
- Work cooperatively with all members of the Athletics & Recreation Department and any other campus or community office/agency.
- Handle communications and required documentation in a timely manner.

- Perform a variety of related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in the conduct of a collegiate level Men’s Lacrosse program with proven success in recruiting high quality student athletes and/or equivalent related experiences.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply NCAA and conference rules as they pertain to the Men’s Lacrosse program.
- Required to be First Aid/CPR/AED certified.
- Complete all required NCAA DI Institute modules prior to being able to participate in off campus recruiting activities and countable athletically related activities.
- Possess a valid, current U.S. driver’s license.
- Have reliable transportation or the ability to rent a vehicle when needed to travel to recruiting sites.
