About the Role

The Dunfield Retirement Residence, a luxurious community in Toronto, seeks a Server to provide exceptional dining service to residents and guests. This role is integral to enriching residents' lives in a dynamic, high-end setting, requiring a team player dedicated to a positive and respectful atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Set and clean tables, serving counters, and dining area according to event and service standards
  • Take orders, including modifications, answer inquiries, and communicate orders to the kitchen
  • Serve food and beverage to residents and guests
  • Know all residents’ dietary requirements and preferences
  • Understand and follow orders to serve food correctly and according to specified modifications
  • Provide high-level dining services to residents according to company standards
  • Clean table bases, chairs, and vacuum dining room floor
  • Practice and maintain established standards for cleanliness and sanitation required by the Health Department
  • Promote and maintain positive communication and relationships among staff, residents, and their guests
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages
  • Pick up trays and clean tables as needed to ensure a clean dining area
  • Establish and maintain an atmosphere conducive to pleasant dining by creating an environment which maintains the enjoyment, self-respect, dignity, and physical safety of each resident

Requirements

  • 2 years of fine dining floor experience
  • Smart serve certification
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Availability to work weekends and flexible shifts, including evenings
  • Previous working experience with seniors an asset
  • Fluency in spoken English and ability to read and write in basic English
  • Ability to perform physical tasks: carrying or lifting items up to 50 pounds, moving about the restaurant, handling food objects, plates, trays, glasses, considerable bending, stooping, and kneeling

  • $19.10 CAD per hour + discretionary bonus eligibility
