About the Role
The IT Business Analyst reports to the Manager – Business Analysis, collaborating with internal IT, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors to define requirements and deliver key IT initiatives. This role supports a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project teams to elicit and document detailed business requirements, ensuring alignment with IT and business stakeholders.
- Partner with project teams throughout the delivery lifecycle to meet project goals during planning, analysis, development, and testing.
- Lead smaller IT projects, defining stakeholder roles, responsibilities, and managing project plans.
- Provide recommendations on solutions and guidance on business implications for impacted applications/processes.
- Lead process improvement efforts and evaluate new technologies for business success.
- Monitor implementation to ensure system and business requirements are met, addressing issues and collecting feedback.
- Bridge communication between business and IT teams, ensuring alignment on functional and non-functional requirements.
- Execute and support various levels of application testing.
- Update and implement operational procedures for smooth operation and performance.
- Provide second-level support, troubleshooting escalated application issues for permanent resolutions.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education, preferably in business or applied computer science.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience as an IT Business Analyst.
- Experience with Ecom, Retail, Wholesale, EDI, and/or Finance applications is an asset.
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure and software development lifecycles (SDLC).

- Intermediate proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
