About the Role

Purpose Unlimited is building the future of financial services and seeks a Senior Technical Recruiter to build the technology and AI teams. As the first Toronto-based recruiter, you will own the technical hiring engine, identifying and closing exceptional talent across all disciplines. This full-lifecycle, high-ownership role involves partnering with the CTO and senior technology leaders to translate product and AI roadmaps into talent pipelines, spanning software engineers, data engineers, data scientists, digital engineers, tech leads, and interns. This role embodies an Owner's Mindset, taking full responsibility for outcomes and impact, shaping the product, culture, and trajectory of the company.

Responsibilities

Build and own the full technical talent pipeline.
Source and close top-tier candidates across software engineering, data engineering, data science, digital engineering, and tech lead roles.
Manage high-volume hiring, niche senior searches, and the end-to-end internship program.
Serve as a strategic partner to the CTO and technology leadership.
Define ideal candidate profiles, go-to-market recruiting strategies, and hiring bar calibration across every technical discipline.
Provide market intelligence and competitive data to inform hiring decisions.
Own the candidate experience from initial outreach to offer acceptance.
Guide candidates through the process with transparency and genuine care for fit.
Lead compensation and equity conversations with confidence and precision.
Design and continuously improve the recruiting infrastructure.
Deploy AI recruiting tools to scale sourcing, research, and pipeline management.
Track, analyze, and act on recruiting metrics including conversion rates, time-to-fill, and quality of hire.
Drive cross-functional alignment across Technology, Operations, Marketing, and P&C to ensure successful hires.
Assess candidate motivations, hesitations, and fit signals.
Build trust with passive candidates.
Calibrate hiring bars with engineers.
Negotiate offers considering emotion, logic, and timing.
Make judgment calls when data is ambiguous and urgency is high.

Requirements

6+ years of full-lifecycle technical recruiting experience, with direct ownership of searches across multiple technical disciplines.
Demonstrated track record closing passive senior candidates in competitive markets.
Fluency with AI recruiting tools, including configuration, direction, and improvement.
Exceptional stakeholder communication, quickly earning trust with technical leaders and hiring managers.
Experience scaling technical recruiting across software, data, and digital disciplines in a high-growth startup or fintech environment.
Background recruiting for internship and early-career programs alongside senior and specialist hires.
Proven ability to build sustainable recruiting processes.
Experience with startup equity negotiation and total compensation storytelling.
Comfort managing a diverse requisition mix (volume, niche, senior, and emerging talent) without compromising quality.
Legally entitled to work in Canada.
