About the Role
Ensure guest satisfaction through properly maintained property, guest rooms, and public areas. Respond promptly and efficiently to guest complaints and concerns. Understand and adhere to all fire and safety rules, regulations, and policies. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs according to hotel standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot mechanical operations and equipment.
- Perform electrical repairs including switches, lamps/ballasts, and receptacles.
- Conduct plumbing repairs including fixtures, pipes, drains, and water heaters.
- Execute carpentry tasks including drywall, wallpaper, painting, caulking, tile, windows, doors, locks, and furniture.
- Maintain mechanical equipment such as washers, dryers, vacuum cleaners, and plaza gates.
- Complete all work orders in a timely manner.
- Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule and report daily progress.
- Keep all work areas and guest rooms neat and orderly.
- Maintain proper inventory levels.
- Perform daily Building/Room Audits.
- Check all exterior and public area lighting and signage daily.
- Report to work punctually in proper uniform with a name tag.
- Maintain personal hygiene daily.
- Help maintain the overall appearance of the hotel’s public space and hallways.
- Respond immediately to reports of non-functioning equipment from customers and staff (ALICE system).
- Paint and touch up all hotel areas and maintain guest rooms to perfect condition.
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance in guest rooms.
- Have a thorough understanding of hotel fire alarm procedures and other emergencies.
- Attend required meetings.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Be courteous to all customers and fellow employees.
- Report unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately.
- Be present in all fire drills and safety meetings.
- Monitor Hotel Fire Panels and jobs conducted by Impact Fire Company.
- Maintain hotel equipment in proper working conditions.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Ensure all third-party vendors check-in with the front desk.
- Monitor third-party vendor access to employee areas and guest rooms.
- Ensure all areas are secure after third-party vendor departure.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
- Display courteous behavior with guests and team members.
- Report any unsafe conditions immediately.
- Ensure hotel equipment is in proper working condition.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Comfortable using devices for team communication and daily checklists (e.g., Alice system).
- Ability to constantly stand/walk on various surfaces.
- Ability to frequently crouch, stoop, reach, twist/turn, climb, crawl/kneel.
- Ability to frequently handle/grasp, balance.
- Ability to frequently push/pull equipment weighing 5-100 lbs.
- Ability to occasionally push/pull equipment weighing up to 150 lbs.
- Ability to frequently lift/carry equipment and supplies weighing 5-50 lbs.
- Ability to occasionally lift/carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Neat, professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
- Ability to work varying schedules to meet business needs.
- Required attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings.
- Ability to work in all interior areas of the hotel.
- Ability to work exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
- Ability to work with exposure to hazardous chemicals in a controlled environment.
