About the Role
Manage day-to-day field operations for high-voltage electrical installation projects from pre-construction through closeout, overseeing safety, quality, schedule, cost, personnel, material, subcontractors, and client communication to ensure project execution aligns with specifications and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily construction activities for assigned high voltage projects.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, estimating, and cost control development.
- Coordinate material procurement to ensure timely delivery and availability.
- Serve as the primary field contact for client communication and relationship management.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure required permits, approvals, and documentation are secured and maintained.
- Review and provide approval for internal and external project reports and cost forecasts.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support and implement field design changes.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements, quality standards, and company policies.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support successful project delivery.
Requirements
- 5+ years of construction experience within the Electric Power Industry.
- Proven background managing EPC or utility infrastructure projects.
- Experience with estimating, material management, scheduling, subcontract execution, and cost tracking.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel up to 100% based on project assignments.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to secure TWIC if required.
- Demonstrated hands-on field leadership across multiple aspects of high-voltage power delivery construction.
- Experience with high voltage electrical infrastructure.
- Experience with power distribution systems (15kV–500kV environments).
- Experience with substation construction, modernization, and expansion projects.
- Experience with greenfield and brownfield yard work under energized-clearance protocols.
- Experience with transmission line yard, bus work, grounding, and structural installations.
- Experience with major electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Experience with power transformers (installation, alignment, oil processing coordination).
- Experience with switchgear (AIS & GIS), circuit breakers, disconnects, and control panels.
- Experience with SF6 handling, evacuation, and environmental compliance practices.
- Experience with civil and structural components.
- Experience with drill piers, foundations, equipment pads, and steel erection.
- Experience with duct bank design/layout, form/pour, and thermal backfill requirements.
- Experience with cable tray routing, trenching, conduit routing, and grounding grids.
- Experience with electrical installation and termination.
- Experience with pulling, dressing, terminating, and testing power cable and control cable.
- Experience with feeder upgrades and circuit cutovers in live utility environments.
- Experience with QA/QC documentation, redlines, and as-built verification.
