Coordinate maintenance requirements and costs, manage repair and maintenance operations, and ensure work is performed efficiently and within company standards. Achieve financial objectives by preparing budgets, analyzing variances, and implementing corrective actions. Maintain and manage a high-quality service technician team through recruitment, training, and performance management, while staying updated on industry standards and contributing to overall team objectives.
Responsibilities
- Identify current and future maintenance requirements and costs by coordinating with relevant personnel.
- Complete maintenance operational requirements by scheduling employees, negotiating and hiring contractors, and following up on work results.
- Resolve maintenance problems by conferring with management, engineering, and quality control personnel.
- Manage repair and maintenance operations by determining priorities, scheduling, and overseeing equipment installation.
- Ensure cost-effective repairs by examining records, reports, and operating practices.
- Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
- Manage maintenance operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program and operational policies and procedures.
- Ensure work is performed within company standards by inspecting for quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, and orienting employees.
- Maintain high-quality results of service technician staff through training, coaching, counseling, disciplining, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to the Facilities team by accomplishing related results as requested.
Requirements
- Degree in business or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- 5-7 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Good communication skills.
- Self-directed.
- Customer service oriented.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Understanding of business principles.
- Understanding of procurement practices.
- Understanding of budgeting.
- Understanding of expense analysis.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to resolve maintenance issues.
- Current valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
- Ability to work 40%-60% in the local region.
- Ability to travel to Toronto Support Office as required.
