About the Role

This Federal Work Study position provides academic support to undergraduate students through course-specific tutoring. Tutors reinforce course content, develop study strategies, and promote independent learning. The role is designed for junior or senior-level students to serve as academic role models, gaining professional experience in teaching, communication, and leadership. It aims to strengthen subject-matter knowledge, develop communication and interpersonal skills, provide experience in mentoring, and encourage professionalism and time management.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions for Fashion 100.
Assist students with understanding course concepts, assignments, and exam preparation, encouraging independent problem-solving.
Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and confidentiality in all tutoring interactions.
Prepare for tutoring sessions by reviewing course materials and coordinating with students as needed.
Accurately track tutoring hours and complete required Federal Work-Study documentation.
Communicate regularly with the tutoring coordinator or supervising staff regarding student progress, scheduling, and concerns.
Participate in required training sessions.
Uphold institutional academic integrity policies.

Requirements

Must be a junior, senior, or graduate student in the assigned program.
Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Passed the class for which tutoring is provided with a B or higher.
Director review and approval.
