About the Role

As a Lead Data Scientist, you will define the scope and direction of data science initiatives and deliver them with a small- to medium-sized team. You will lead the development and deployment of advanced AI and machine learning models, collaborating with partners across data science, engineering, and product to create high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and deployment of advanced AI and machine learning models to solve complex business problems
• Partner with data scientists and engineers to design, develop, and deploy AI solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI solutions with business goals and customer needs
• Analyze large datasets to identify patterns and trends for AI development
• Communicate findings and insights clearly to stakeholders
• Mentor junior data scientists and guide on AI and machine learning best practices
• Drive best practices across data science functions, setting strategy and team direction
• Evaluate and create new frameworks, define methodologies and governance for model development

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in a senior data scientist role, delivering high-quality results
• Experience leading complex projects and building strong customer or stakeholder relationships
• Experience leading technical teams and guiding end-to-end delivery
• Experience mentoring or training others, acting as a subject matter expert
• Strong problem-solving approach, able to lead collaborative issue resolution
• Excellent communication skills, conveying information clearly to senior stakeholders
• Experience with large language models and Transformer-based architectures including BERT, RoBERTa, T5
• Experience applying recent LLMs including ChatGPT, GPT 3.5, OPT, BLOOM
• Strong coding skills in Python or another programming language
• Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing systems (Hadoop, Spark)

• U.S. National Base Pay Range: $104,900 - $174,700
• Eligible for an annual incentive bonus
