About the Role

The Senior Project Manager for DSV Contract Logistics plans, budgets, oversees, and documents new business implementation and existing business initiatives within the Solutions organization, focusing on warehousing and distribution centers. This role ensures projects are on schedule, within scope, and on budget through detailed planning, proactive communication, and persistent monitoring of deliverables from all project resources.

Responsibilities

  • Understand all phases of project implementation schedules, deliverables, and timing.
  • Operate projects within DSV CL Project Approach methodology and Group PMO governance.
  • Facilitate DSV Quality Planning sessions with clients for project scoping and execution.
  • Create detailed project schedules with milestones and critical path tasks, including internal, client, and contractor tasks.
  • Communicate project scope and schedule to all resources and stakeholders, ensuring alignment.
  • Hold team members and contractors accountable for deliverable completion.
  • Manage project budget, scope, and timeline through proactive communication and change control.
  • Lead regular project team status meetings, capturing updates, next steps, and risks/mitigation.
  • Facilitate small group breakouts for detailed discussions.
  • Escalate issues and risks to management or Project Board.
  • Lead Project Board updates on executive status, budget, and risks.
  • Plan and manage the transition from project execution to stable operations.
  • Assist with drafting MS Project files for RFP responses.
  • Manage internal initiatives for department process and toolset improvement.
  • Build comprehensive project plans with clear tasks, due dates, and named owners.
  • Anticipate risks and proactively build mitigation plans with relevant functions, ensuring follow-through.
  • Ensure clear understanding of deliverables for each owner.
  • Drive team ownership and a high-energy culture, emphasizing team outcome.
  • Verify work in progress for correctness and high quality.
  • Proactively follow up on all open items and check progress.
  • Demonstrate a "whatever it takes" attitude, stepping in to meet deadlines.
  • Escalate and pull in support before issues become crises.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and factually with customers.
  • Convene the team frequently during critical project times.
  • Define success and drive functional workstreams to achieve it.
  • Keep the team aligned and focused on priorities and completion timing.
  • Ensure clear, understood, and consistent use of project status indicators.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree (Management, Engineering, Operations preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of Logistics/Warehousing Industry experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems.
  • English language proficiency (reading, writing, verbal).
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of business, including meeting facilitation.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • E-commerce experience, including starting up small to large volume solutions.
  • Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures.
  • Ability to work overtime as dictated by business needs.
  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned by management.
