About the Role
This blended role combines commercial paralegal work with legal operations build, focusing on designing processes, playbooks, and platforms to scale the legal function globally as Board Intelligence grows. Reporting to the Legal Director, you will partner with various stakeholders to support commercial activity, reduce friction, improve speed to signature, and own the underlying processes, templates, and tooling for consistent risk decisions across expansions, new enterprise procurement, and market entry. The company seeks candidates with potential, commercial instinct, and a builder’s mindset, who possess meaningful paralegal experience and ambition to develop their practice beyond task execution into building an in-house legal function.
Responsibilities
- Provide commercial contracting support for buy-side and sell-side, including drafting NDAs, order forms, amendments, and supplier agreements.
- Offer core legal support across all Board Intelligence trading entities.
- Deliver company secretarial support, including governance processes, entity maintenance, approvals, and external provider coordination.
- Support the Legal Director on complex or high-value arrangements, coordinating stakeholder input, tracking approvals, and managing execution.
- Assist with regulatory documentation, including Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), AI schedules, and privacy/security addenda.
- Act as the key contact for contract lifecycle and obligation management, supporting tracking, post-signature compliance, and operationalization.
- Provide sell-side commercial support by progressing deals, applying standard positions, and escalating non-standard requests.
- Support sell-side and procurement diligence, including responding to enterprise procurement processes and coordinating inputs.
- Enable data privacy and digital regulatory compliance, embedding consistent positions and workable processes for regional scaling.
- Deliver post-M&A integration, including contract novations, template harmonization, and issue triage.
- Lead legal operations, including developing templates, playbooks, clause libraries, implementing legal tech (CLM, e-signature, intake, AI review), designing workflows, and building data-driven reporting.
- Provide ad hoc legal support for cross-functional initiatives.
Requirements
- Experienced paralegal, or equivalent, with strong commercial contracting exposure and genuine interest in legal operations.
- Comfortable in a scaling, global SaaS and technology environment.
- Possess a practical, commercial mindset and comfort with ambiguity during transition and change.
- Demonstrate initiative to surface options and balance commercial outcomes against risk.
- Interest in improving global processes, not just local execution.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence across regions without direct authority.
- Ambition to grow into a role with greater ownership and impact.
- Meaningful in-house or private practice paralegal experience, typically three years or more.
- Hands-on experience drafting commercial agreements (NDAs, order forms, supplier agreements) and supporting negotiations in a fast-paced SaaS or technology environment.
- Familiarity with various commercial agreements, including exposure to MSAs.
- Confidence partnering with senior business stakeholders across functions and geographies, supporting Sales on upsells, renewals, and enterprise procurement cycles.
- Exposure to working with Sales or commercial teams in high-volume or scaling environments.
- Enthusiasm for legal tech and AI enablement, with evidence of self-starting adoption (CLM, contract automation, playbooks, e-signature, AI assisted drafting/review).
- Evidence of ownership beyond task execution, such as improving templates, building trackers, owning intake processes, or running legal operations work end-to-end.
