About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Understand operational business needs and translate them into solutions.
  • Apply latest GenAI techniques to solve business problems.
  • Utilize data science tools, including machine learning, visualization, and GenAI, to address business challenges.
  • Collaborate with IT and business departments to ensure operational use of results and measure impact on key business indicators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share expertise and implement advanced solutions.
  • Build business relationships and provide technical leadership and guidance.
  • Manage and transmit knowledge through documentation and events.
  • Contribute to the innovation and advancement of machine learning capabilities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Work experience in an international environment (plus).
  • Work experience in insurance (strong plus).

Skills

  • Ability to model business reality into equations and understand model implications and limitations.
  • Deep understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms.
  • Understanding of modern Large Language Models, including experience with inference, APIs, and fine-tuning.
  • Excellent knowledge of machine learning tools and libraries.
  • Experience in data processing, relational and NoSQL databases, and data visualization.
  • Good programming skills (Python, Java).
  • Good software engineering culture (e.g., source control systems, code reviews).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills.
  • Analytical skills to produce useful business insights.
  • Discipline in writing technical and non-technical documentation.
  • Ability to work efficiently in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to contribute to complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Business acumen.
  • Problem-solving oriented mindset.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of Data Science skills.
  • Autonomy, curiosity, and innovation capability.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English (mandatory).
  • French language skills (plus).

Experience Level

  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • International work experience (plus).
  • Insurance industry experience (strong plus).

Education Level

  • Master’s degree, equivalent dual diploma, or PhD in finance, actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, physics, or related field.
