About the Role

The Lateral Recruiting Coordinator supports the legal recruiting team by coordinating recruiting and hiring processes for entry-level associates and lateral candidates, and assisting in other lawyer recruiting and retention efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate lateral searches and post on job boards.
  • Maintain and process search firm fee agreements.
  • Process search firm invoices and track placement fees.
  • Coordinate candidate and attorney interview scheduling, including travel.
  • Track lateral candidates and provide periodic hiring reports.
  • Enter resumes into applicant tracking system and regularly update the database.
  • Draft offer letters.
  • Run candidate background checks.
  • Send offer letters to SBU leadership and CFO before candidate start dates.
  • Assist with recruiting, diversity, and retention projects and initiatives.
  • Attend and take notes at weekly recruiting team and SBU update meetings.
  • Assist with annual NALP Directory of Legal Employers survey completion.
  • Coordinate, submit, and track department surveys.
  • Prepare check requests and process business/personal reimbursements.
  • Track department expenditures and assist with year-end budget reporting.
  • Make travel arrangements for Director and Managers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date recruiting records and files.
  • Assist and support Lateral Recruiting Specialist.
  • Assist and support the student recruiting team.
  • Assist with Lateral Recruiting event planning.
  • Perform other special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience, preferably at an administrative level in legal or professional services.
  • Experience managing process recordkeeping, databases, and scanned documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Typing/Word Processing at a minimum of 40 WPM.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding candidates, firm, and recruiting matters.
  • Understanding of firm-wide recruiting and professional development processes.
  • Understanding of basic office methods, practices, procedures, including filing systems, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and personnel/recruiting policies.
