About the Role

The Security Officer reports to the Security Manager, ensuring the security of Data Center sites, clients, visitors, and colleagues. Responsibilities include patrolling property, monitoring surveillance, inspecting access points, and managing entry. The role prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities and enforcing policies, ensuring facility security and safety for all. This position requires a 4 on / 4 off, 12-hour shift pattern, including days, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

Manage access control procedures for authorized personnel entry
Issue passes and collect relevant identification
Monitor CCTV
Assist in fire drills and alarms
Ensure adherence to Health and Safety rules
Perform reception duties
Assist the Security Manager/Deputy Manager as applicable
Perform other day-to-day operational activities as required

Requirements

Hold a valid Front-Line SIA Licence
Ability to work a 12-hour rolling shift rota (4 days, 4 nights), including weekends and public holidays
Communicate effectively at all levels
Possess good relationship building skills
Demonstrate initiative and an inquisitive nature
Possess good observation skills
Willingness to ask appropriate questions
Ability to undergo full security checks to BS7858:2019
