About the Role
North Austin Pediatrics seeks a part-time Medical Assistant for its Austin office. The role involves providing a personal approach and high-quality care to patients, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The ideal candidate will assist providers in a clinical environment, serving as the first line of patient support for both ill and well visits.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient flow from arrival through rooming patients and checking vitals
- Assist providers in a clinical setting by performing lab swabs and administering vaccinations and other procedures
- Perform routine laboratory work in the office
- Clean and prepare exam rooms for the next patient by sterilizing instruments and restocking exam room supplies
- Call patients with routine lab results
- Complete lab requisitions and prepare specimens for testing
- Review laboratory reports in charts after physician reviews
- Perform additional administrative duties related to patient care
Requirements
- Work in a pediatric office setting frequently with patients and the public
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to multi-task and run a provider independently
- Ability to relate to children
- Part-time availability: less than 24 hours weekly, with one Saturday morning (7:40am-12:00 pm) every 4-6 weeks
- Legal right to work in the United States
