About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for strategy, objectives, and project delivery within the Engine/Group HSW portfolio, aligned with Mace's strategy.
  • Drive and implement strategies, and develop operational plans for the portfolio.
  • Accountable for annual financial and operating targets for the HSW portfolio, including KPIs and business outcomes.
  • Lead effective cost management, ensuring budgets are met and utilizing data for continuous business improvements.
  • Oversee and promote effective relationships with external clients, suppliers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Accountable for overall HSW in Engine/Group, overseeing health and safety management systems and compliance.
  • Oversee the development of HSW strategies and initiatives aligned to business requirements.
  • Lead risk assessment, audit reviews, monitoring, and management of HSW within the portfolio.
  • Champion innovation and provide thought leadership across the HSW portfolio, advocating new ideas and efficiencies.
  • Lead and implement service delivery strategies, fostering a culture of good practice and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate across the business, identify cross-selling opportunities, and drive business development.
  • Demonstrate good organizational citizenship and provide enterprise-wide leadership for strategic implementation and transformational change.
  • Lead the Engine/Group HSW portfolio by example, setting high standards and guiding the business area.
  • Ensure a high-performing project portfolio and teams that meet and exceed KPIs.
  • Represent Mace and Engine/Group HSW, managing and influencing C-Suite and senior external relationships.
  • Promote and champion the highest standards and adherence to Health, Safety & Wellbeing across the portfolio.
  • Provide thought leadership, industry expertise, and expert counsel to senior leadership teams for the HSW portfolio.

Requirements

  • Advanced expertise in budget management and financial oversight.
  • Ability to lead and shape the strategic direction of a business from internal and external perspectives.
  • Proven capability to influence, build, and lead cohesive senior leadership teams overseeing regional operations.
  • Strong expertise in client engagement, strategic partnerships, work winning, and driving operational performance.
  • Experienced and effective people leader with strong team development capabilities.
  • Strong experience working with key clients across relevant sectors or portfolios.
  • Advanced negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to persuade, advise, and collaborate effectively to drive alignment and achieve business outcomes.
  • Demonstrates innovative thinking, continuously improving processes and championing new approaches.
  • Promotes and drives the adoption of new technologies across teams and operations.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership or director-level role (or equivalent).
  • Strong commercial awareness with consulting and strategic acumen.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a relevant leadership role within the construction or consultancy sector.
  • Degree in Business Administration, Construction, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent qualification or experience).
