About the Role
Serve as a front-line manager responsible for leading and developing tax office associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving office growth objectives. Act as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products, and prepare accurate tax returns as needed. The role involves a flexible part-time schedule in the fall, transitioning to full-time from January through April, with a reduced schedule during summer months and opportunities for advancement.
Responsibilities
- Partner with District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, including developing local partnerships and managing community involvement.
- Build an engaging team environment by training, coaching, and recognizing associate contributions.
- Prepare tax returns as required.
- Assist District General Manager in recruiting and interviewing candidates.
- Serve as point of contact for escalated client service concerns.
- Ensure proper client scheduling and conflict resolution.
- Lead daily activities to ensure associate work is completed on time, meeting quality standards and goals.
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to associates.
- Create associate work schedules, ensure accurate timekeeping, and manage overtime.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and partner with Associate Relations Center to resolve associate issues and address performance concerns.
Requirements
- Prior experience in customer service, shift leader, or similar role.
- Experience supervising or managing people.
- Successful completion of H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course.
- Annual completion of continuing education and ability to meet IRS and applicable state requirements.
- Customer-centric mindset with strong communication skills.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and adapt to work assignments based on business needs.
