About the Role
Join the Civil/Structural team, specializing in complex structural engineering problems involving dynamic load effects from extreme hazards like seismic, blast, and impact. The role requires deep insight into structural response, failure mechanisms, ductility, nonlinear buckling, and soil-structure interaction, moving beyond standard code checks. Projects involve rigorous validation, independent review, and justification to nuclear safety Regulators, offering a varied and challenging experience. Projects include reinforced concrete, plated steel, maritime structures, and specialized submarine facilities.
Responsibilities
- Inter-discipline project planning, delivery, and financial performance
- Provision of technical quality and excellence of project deliverables
- Provide technical and professional guidance, support, and development to junior engineers and technicians
- Adherence and contribution to business and quality management systems
- Operational and design safety, and developing a good safety culture
Requirements
- Good all-round technical design expertise using British and international standards, and/or Eurocodes
- Proven ability to manage projects and prepare project deliverables, including managing quality, budget, programme, and resources
- Good, accredited MEng degree in Civil Engineering or similar
- Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer
