About the Role

Join the Epic Engineering team in the Financial Management Division to own key platform areas, design architecture, lead development, advance AI efforts, and mentor junior engineers. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape a high-impact product within a nimble team in an established organization. Partner with global engineers and product managers to design, architect, build, and test impactful products, contributing to product vision through quality and technical excellence. Success requires fluency in SaaS-based application development, test automation, analytical skills, and dedication to software quality.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, QA) to build scalable, cloud-native software solutions
  • Collaborate as part of Agile Scrum teams in sprint planning, review, and retrospectives
  • Develop and maintain robust accounting systems and reconciliation applications
  • Architect systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability
  • Build applications using GCP services
  • Lead and contribute to technical design discussions, mentor team members, and guide architectural decisions and technical best practices
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high engineering standards

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant programming experience as a full stack developer
  • Ability to use AI and automation to reduce toil, accelerate delivery, and improve decision quality by embedding AI-assisted development and automation into daily execution
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks, ideally Scrum or Kanban, using tools like Jira and Confluence
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with ambiguity
  • Proven technical abilities, troubleshooting skills, and research abilities
  • Experience with cloud environments and cloud applications using DataDog, GitLab, and Kubernetes
  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience providing guidance and support to other members of the software engineering team for technical problem-solving
  • Previous experience working in startups or within the Insurance space
  • Experience building and integrating with General Ledger, Accounting, and Reconciliation systems at scale
  • Exposure to Nodejs development and the Payments space
