About the Role
This role is responsible for safely handling lumber products and verifying material meets customer requirements and company expectations.
Responsibilities
- Move and secure lumber products and other materials according to instructions
- Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
- Label material based on type, size, and count
- Apply individual tags to material before/after treating/production
- Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment
- Band, bundle, and secure material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
- Follow instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
- Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area
- Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
- Record production on production sheets
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
- Participate in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Skills
- Working knowledge of basic math preferred
Experience Level
- No minimum experience is required
- Manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred
Education Level
- High school diploma/GED preferred
