About the Role

The Nuclear Power Programmes team supports positive change and shapes the future of Nuclear Power across the UK and continental Europe. This role involves expanding the team on various nuclear projects, contributing to Net Zero and Energy Security. The team delivers major program and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle, focusing on safe, high-quality, and timely solutions through innovative and collaborative approaches.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of strategy and the subsequent implementation of all commercial and procurement activities.
- Manage commercial negotiations in major public sector competitions.
- Manage all aspects of negotiating, agreeing, researching, and compiling complex business investments.
- Manage and coordinate internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the wider NPP Commercial function and the project team on all commercial and procurement activities.
- Define, agree, and consistently implement commercial principles throughout complex documents and processes.
- Plan and manage technical consistency readiness reviews across a cross-functional team.
- Manage commercial issues on projects covered by European public procurement directives and international, European, and state nuclear regulations.
- Implement nuclear safety and nuclear quality standards.
- Maintain ethical standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Commercial Manager.
- Experience with FIDIC and NEC 3&4 suite of contracts.
- Experience in major projects.
- Knowledge of UK law and its impact on contracts and commercial functions.
- Good understanding of procurement, contract performance measurement, risk, change, and claim management.
- Ability to work across multiple discipline teams to develop, implement, and operate commercial strategies and contractual agreements.
- Ability to develop and execute innovative approaches to commercial delivery for the benefit of the project.
