About the Role

As a Programmer Analyst, you will transform data into insights to enhance patient care, strengthen operations, and support financial performance, contributing to value-based care initiatives. This role involves building tools and dashboards for clinical and operational teams to track metrics and make informed decisions, while also supporting clinical applications and ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.

Responsibilities

Design and develop dashboards and data models for clinical, operational, and financial decision-making.
Write and maintain complex SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
Support value-based care initiatives with insights on quality metrics and performance goals.
Collaborate with clinical leaders, quality teams, and IT to translate data needs into solutions.
Maintain clear and consistent data definitions to ensure data trust and understanding.
Troubleshoot data issues, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems.
Provide support for clinical applications, analytics tools, and dashboards.
Resolve system issues and support improvements by working with vendors and internal teams.
Assist users in effectively understanding and utilizing dashboards and reports.

Requirements

Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries independently.
Experience with relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server).
Experience with Microsoft Fabric or Power BI, including dataflows and semantic models.
Solid understanding of hospital or clinical workflows and how data supports them.
Experience building or supporting dashboards, reports, or analytics tools.
Ability to troubleshoot data issues and ensure data quality and integrity.
Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical teams.
Experience gathering requirements and partnering with subject matter experts.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems, or a related field.
Associate’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems, or a related field and two years of full-time software development experience.
High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma with a computer science or related certificate and four years of full-time software development experience.
Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD, CPT) is advantageous.
Experience with PHP or Python is a plus.
Experience providing advanced (Tier 3) application support is a plus.
