About the Role
Assist with laboratory and production tests, ensuring all testing adheres to standards, laboratory procedures, and company guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Set up samples, prepare culture media, decontaminate wastes, and perform monthly environmental tests in the laboratory and production.
- Perform microbiological testing as per scope and assigned miscellaneous tests.
- Identify nonconformities, potential nonconformities, and laboratory process improvements, reporting results to customers.
- Maintain laboratory environment and supplies, including reagent inventory, equipment monitoring and maintenance, media stock rotation, and retain sample disposal.
- Handle complex clerical, administrative, technical, or customer support issues with minimal supervision, escalating only the most complex to appropriate staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent.
- Knowledge of lab procedures and techniques.
- Knowledge of microbiology, preparation of culture media, laboratory equipment and basic laboratory techniques.
- Minimum of four years of related work experience.
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada.
