About the Role

The Client-Side Construction Manager represents the Owner, overseeing, monitoring, and assuring all construction activities by the EPC contractor and subcontractors. This role ensures project execution aligns with Client requirements, nuclear safety expectations, Polish regulatory obligations, and international best practices. The manager will lead a significant Client Team and serve as the primary on-site representative, coordinating with engineering, licensing, procurement, and executive leadership.

Responsibilities

Monitor EPC contractor performance, ensuring adherence to contract obligations, technical specifications, and nuclear safety requirements
Develop, manage, and implement a workforce plan based on program demand and supply through consultation and collaboration with key stakeholders
Develop/support development of oversight procedures and organization, including external personnel resources
Coordinate with Polish nuclear regulators (PAA), environmental authorities, and local agencies to ensure compliance
Support implementation of the Client’s QA/QC oversight program; review inspection results, audits, and non-conformance reports; ensure effective corrective actions
Identify schedule, cost, and technical risks; escalate critical issues; lead mitigation planning on behalf of the Client
Validate contractor schedules, verify progress, and challenge deviations; ensure transparency and accuracy of reporting
Monitor contractor adherence to EPC terms, change management processes, and performance metrics
Ensure the contractor maintains a strong nuclear safety culture; intervene when unsafe conditions or behaviors are observed
Provide clear, evidence-based reporting to the Client’s executive team on progress, risks, and compliance status

Requirements

Experience in nuclear construction, preferably including GW scale plants
Familiarity with nuclear construction requirements, including quality assurance, traceability, and safety standards
Familiarity with nuclear island and conventional island construction processes
Experience in nuclear new build projects or power projects with significant experience in nuclear or similarly regulated industries (e.g., oil & gas, petrochemicals)
Strong knowledge of construction planning, scheduling, and execution methodologies
Strong capability in identifying construction risks, implementing mitigation measures, and managing claims and contractual issues
Proven leadership in multicultural, multidisciplinary environments
Experience representing the Client/Owner on major infrastructure or nuclear projects
Ability to oversee EPC/EPCM contractors, subcontractors, and supply chains
Understanding of nuclear licensing, permitting, and construction regulations
Experience working with nuclear regulators and participating in inspections, audits, and licensing-related construction activities
Background in civil, mechanical, or nuclear engineering
Deep understanding of nuclear QA/QC requirements (e.g., NQA-1, ISO standards)
Experience ensuring full traceability of materials and construction activities
Familiarity with inspection and test plans (ITPs) and hold points
Demonstrated commitment to the highest safety standards and nuclear safety culture
Experience implementing HSE management systems and ensuring compliance with stringent regulations
