About the Role
The CDL Driver - Hazmat is responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to deliver products to customer locations or job sites, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while following all DOT regulations. Drivers are essential partners, delivering reliability, trust, and a great customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly, adhering to all DOT rules and maintaining a clean driving record.
- Comply with federal and state regulations for hazardous material transportation.
- Inspect vehicles pre- and post-trip to ensure safe and timely deliveries.
- Load, unload, and organize orders, ensuring proper product securement and appropriate hazardous material separation.
- Adhere to FMCSA regulations.
- Verify purchase orders and delivery tickets to confirm routes and inventory.
- Support job site safety by identifying and reporting potential hazards.
- Photograph delivered products as per company policy.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle inspections, and receipts.
Requirements
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- HAZMAT Endorsement.
- Current DOT Medical Certification.
- Completion of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) Registration.
- Ability to continuously lift and handle freight/materials up to 100 pounds.
- Must be 21 years old for transporting hazardous materials.
- Clean driving record (no hit & runs and no DWI/DUI in the last 18 months).
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance, and OSHA safety regulations.
- Basic computer skills for recording deliveries and tracking inventory.
- Air Brake endorsement (Preferred).
- Experience operating Manual or Automatic Transmission vehicles (Preferred).
- Valid and unexpired forklift certification (Preferred).
- Valid and unexpired certification to operate a Moffett (truck-mounted forklift) (Preferred).
