About the Role
The Food Prep Worker III assists cooks, chefs, or food service managers by preparing recipe ingredients and performing other food preparation and service tasks. This role involves preparing food according to recipes and production guidelines while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. Essential functions and responsibilities may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- Safely utilize a variety of utensils including knives
- Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
- Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Maintain excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, and co-workers
- Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
- Ensure security of company assets
Requirements
- Considerable food prep experience preferred
- Ability to act as an informal resource for less experienced staff
- Operate with limited supervision
- Knowledge of various food prep methods, accurate knife handling, and food safety regulations (handling, sanitation, storage) preferred
- Ability to acquire food safety certification
- Basic math and counting skills
- Interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to meet physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking, and standing
- Willingness to wear uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
