About the Role

MDCalc is a widely used medical reference for clinical decision tools, essential for clinicians to achieve better patient outcomes. This role focuses on driving improvements in how clinicians find, use, and return to MDCalc. The Product Analyst will own projects from discovery to launch and iteration, collaborating with Engineering, Design, and Data to translate user insights and business goals into shipped products, creating real clinical utility at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Drive each project from problem definition through scoping, delivery, and post-launch measurement
  • Identify engagement gaps using qualitative research, behavioral data, and competitive benchmarking
  • Build and iterate on onboarding experiences that help new users quickly understand MDCalc's value and establish return habits
  • Define success metrics and work with Data to instrument and evaluate activation flows
  • Own projects that increase return visit frequency and surface relevant tools to the right users at the right moments
  • Partner with Engineering and Data on personalization capabilities, including favorites, recents, and specialty-based recommendations
  • Write clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for Engineering and Design
  • Lead cross-functional execution across active projects, managing scope, timelines, and dependencies
  • Use data to identify issues post-launch, measure outcomes, and drive continuous improvement

Requirements

  • 3+ years of product analyst experience, with at least one role focused on consumer or professional end-user products
  • Startup experience strongly preferred, particularly in 0→1 environments building products, processes, or systems from the ground up
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, moving quickly, and taking full accountability for outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to own projects end to end, from discovery and definition through launch and measurement
  • Comfort with engagement metrics, including retention curves, activation funnels, session depth, and return visit rate
  • Strong written communication skills across requirements, specs, and stakeholder updates
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, and Data teams
  • Healthcare, clinical, or professional tool experience a plus but not required
  • Familiarity with experimentation and A/B testing frameworks
