About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Independently move materials within the plant using proper equipment.
  • Unload incoming materials from outside carriers.
  • Periodically operate a forklift as directed.
  • Work regularly scheduled shifts, including overtime and weekends if scheduled.
  • Maintain forklift certification.
  • Primarily use a forklift to move materials around the building.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure personal and team health and safety.
  • Collaborate as a team player to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Perform essential job functions with alertness and safety.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
  • Operate a fork truck and electric pallet jack properly and safely after training.
  • Work in all material handling areas and functions.
  • Prioritize workload and manage competing demands.
  • Support multiple departments and locations as needed.
  • Assist in training and mentoring less experienced Material Handlers.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Read and comprehend Bill of Materials.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of material handling/forklift experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred.
  • Advanced experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Previous lead, trainer, or coordinator experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of PLEX or similar inventory/ERP systems for material transactions, inventory tracking, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong computer skills for operating company software.
  • Maintain forklift certification.
  • Capable of traveling and working throughout the entire facility.
