About the Role

Responsibilities
- Independently move materials within the plant using proper equipment.
- Unload incoming materials from outside carriers.
- Periodically operate a forklift as directed.
- Work regularly scheduled shifts, including overtime and weekends if scheduled.
- Maintain forklift certification.
- Primarily use a forklift to move materials around the building.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective communication and collaboration.
- Ensure personal and team health and safety.
- Collaborate as a team player to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Perform essential job functions with alertness and safety.
- Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
- Operate a fork truck and electric pallet jack properly and safely after training.
- Work in all material handling areas and functions.
- Prioritize workload and manage competing demands.
- Support multiple departments and locations as needed.
- Assist in training and mentoring less experienced Material Handlers.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Read and comprehend Bill of Materials.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of material handling/forklift experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred.
- Advanced experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Previous lead, trainer, or coordinator experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of PLEX or similar inventory/ERP systems for material transactions, inventory tracking, and troubleshooting.
- Strong computer skills for operating company software.
- Maintain forklift certification.
- Capable of traveling and working throughout the entire facility.
