About the Role

Join our AI and Machine Learning team at a pivotal moment as we transition to an AI-native organization. This role leads the delivery of our AI roadmap and builds a high-performing Data Science and Engineering culture. Reporting to the Director of AI/ML, you will own people management and delivery across the technical team, managing Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and AI Platform Engineers to ensure support and value delivery.

Responsibilities

Manage, mentor, and develop a cross-functional team (Data Science, Engineering and Platform Engineering)
Responsible for career growth, performance management, and building a coherent, collaborative team culture
Drive the transition of models from research into robust production systems, balancing speed of experimentation with engineering rigour
Oversee the delivery of reusable platform components for wider organization's GenAI adoption
Partner with Technical Leads to ensure team resources and environment support vision execution
Define operational procedures, managing the intersection between central AI/ML and domain teams
Ensure engineers and data scientists are supported in on-call rotations and production systems remain resilient

Requirements

Solid technical background in software, AI engineering or full stack data science
Comfortable with code-related tasks when needed
Proven experience building and managing high performing technical teams
Background in software engineering or AI/ML
Ability to engage in technical discussions
Understand the lifecycle of putting AI/ML models into production
Experience building or managing reusable platform components or developer tools
Understand how to manage the uncertainty of AI projects
Ability to unblock teams
Ability to keep stakeholders aligned on timelines and expectations
