About the Role

Assist in delivering DB proposition developments, focusing on both short-term and long-term strategic initiatives to maintain Just's competitive advantage in the DB business.

Responsibilities

  • Develop long-term strategic ideas for the DB business to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Commercial, to maximize business plan opportunities.
  • Conduct research, improve models, and analyze data to enhance propositions and maximize business plan achievement.
  • Engage with EBCs, professional trustees, and market stakeholders to understand DB market needs and explore new opportunities with the Head of Proposition Development.
  • Prepare and present papers to Senior Management Team (SMT).
  • Identify and mitigate business risks.
  • Support communication of market changes, risks, and trends to the Director of Commercial and Managing Director of DB.
  • Present thought-leading ideas at external events.
  • Deputize for the Head of Proposition Development in meetings as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong level of business acumen.

  • Capable of working collaboratively and effectively, understanding resource implications.

  • High degree of understanding of the products and services provided by the Group, the markets, and the regulatory / legal framework that the Group operates within.
  • Strong knowledge of the DB de-risking market, pricing of DB liabilities and associated metrics, Annuity products and pricing systems, Solvency UK capital requirements and Reinsurance arrangements.
  • Experience gained in the Pensions and/or Life Insurance industry.
  • Strong defined benefit experience and strong knowledge of current Pensions legislation.
