About the Role

Stantec designs with community in mind, delivering innovative, sustainable solutions across transport, utilities, and energy sectors to create resilient, connected communities. With a strong project pipeline, the Utilities team is expanding and seeking an experienced Utilities Coordinator. Opportunities are available for Intermediate and Senior Utilities Coordinators within the Community Development Utilities team. This role involves key responsibilities in planning, designing, and delivering utilities for major civil, transport infrastructure, and renewable energy projects across NSW. The coordinator will manage complex utility interfaces, engage stakeholders, and drive project success within a multidisciplinary environment. Prior experience in utility delivery coordination and providing technical advice to project teams and clients is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Lead coordination and management of utility design activities across major projects
  • Interface with utility authorities to manage approvals, relocations, and service protection strategies
  • Deliver utilities coordination for large civil, transport infrastructure, and renewable energy projects
  • Manage projects from initial lodgement through to delivery, ensuring program and budget targets are met
  • Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical and innovative solutions
  • Conduct data analysis and technical reviews to support project outcomes
  • Represent projects in client, stakeholder, and community consultation forums
  • Perform site inspections and field investigations
  • Mentor and support junior staff development

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience as a Utilities Coordinator and/or Water Servicing Coordinator (WSC)
  • Strong understanding of utility authority requirements, processes, and approvals
  • Experience working on large-scale transport infrastructure and/or renewable energy projects
  • Demonstrated project management capability, including delivery to time and budget
  • Proficiency in 12D, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and MS Office suite
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel locally
